Informal Caregiver Monitoring

In limited circumstances (e.g., children with disabilities, non-traditional hours), CAPS may be authorized for families to use an informal caregiver. For more information regarding when CAPS may be authorized for an informal caregiver, please see CAPS Participating Providers Policy.

As part of CAPS program requirements, informal caregivers must be monitored for health and safety compliance in the home where care is provided. DECAL staff monitor all informal caregivers for health and safety requirements during on-site visits.
